What we are about.....“As a community of women created in the image of God, called to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our gifts, support one another in our callings, engage in ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society, and the world.”

First Lutheran Church WELCA group meets four times each year for planning meetings. We also support two ongoing bible study groups that meet monthly. Both use the Gather magazine for their studies. We encourage members to participate in the Spring and Fall Glacial Ridge Conference meetings as well as Synod and National events.

We collect a thank offering each November for the National WELCA. (If you go back to the “Our Work” tab on our church website, you can see more information about National WELCA. This site includes information on programming and resources including information on subscribing to the Gather magazine.)
Our Mission.....
Mission is our main focus. We try to collect supplies and send kits and quilts to Lutheran World Relief, www.lwr.org and Global Health Ministries, www.GHM.org.

Share and Care Quilters meet the second and fourth Thursday mornings during the school year.

Please read the information following on the mission projects we support. Please consider working on these projects at home, donating items/supplies to church, or helping the Share and Care Quilters.

Since mid-March 2020 we have not been able to meet in person for our events but hope you can find a way to continue to stay focused in engaging in mission ministry and supporting each other.
