September 14:  Rally Sunday at First Lutheran

Mark your calendars! Rally Sunday will be held at First Lutheran with our regular 9:30am service, and we have something exciting planned to kick off the new season of ministry and learning!  Following the worship service, we will head to the Morris Theatre for a FREE private viewing of the animated movie “Light of the World” (rated PG).  Show time will be at 10:45am.  This animated film is about Jesus’ life told through the eyes of John the Apostle.  As the story unfolds, young John embarks on a vivid journey through faith and redemption, discovering the power of love and forgiveness. You won’t want to miss it!

September 21:  Worship at Federated with Sunday School 

· 9:30am worship with fellowship following the service. 

· 8:30am Sunday School Kick-off at Federated.  This year we are excited to have Sunday school offered every Sunday!  Come see what both locations have in-store. It will be a great year of learning and growing in faith together!

​Women of the ELCA Fall Gathering Monday, September 15 at Glenwood Lutheran Church. Registration is $10 and starts at 4:00pm, with a light meal at 4:30pm. Julia & Della Conroy will present "The Sunset of Your Life" which is free and open to the public starting at 6:00pm.

Morris Community Meal held at First Lutheran Church from 5:30-7:30pm on Monday, September 29

September's Meal will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Monday, September 29 at First Lutheran Church, 200 East 5th Street, in Morris. 

Volunteer shifts are available from 2:00-9:00pm on Sunday, September 28 and Monday, September 29. Volunteers will help wash and cut vegetables, prepare dishes, make desserts and set up, serve, and clean up, depending on the shift. Sharing food is a key way to build community. Morris Community Meals are free meals served to anyone who wants to come. Regional businesses and organizations fund the meal, and students, faculty, staff, and community members cook together and share a meal. Morris Community Meal uses local foods and sustainable practices as much as possible, and strives to share food from a variety of cultures. Gluten-free and vegan meals are always available. Anyone can get involved as a co-sponsor, volunteer, or attendee!  The Morris Transit (call 320-589-1000) is available on Monday for free rides to the Community Meal.

 

Appreciation Event for all Sunday school Teachers & Children’s Ministry Leaders

Sunday, October 26th at 3:00pm at the Hancock Community Center

All Sunday school, Wednesday/Saturday Children's Ministries, VBS, and Children’s Music Leaders from the 23 Lutheran churches in our Glacial Ridge Conference, are invited to gather at the Hancock Community Center.  They will be treated to a catered meal and some fun surprises, while also having an opportunity to learn from one another’s joys and challenges of sharing the gospel with our children in this day and age. Mark this date on your calendars and watch for more information coming in October. Presented by The Glacial Ridge Conference Executive Board.
